Fearless Iranians From Hell
San Antonio thrash band from the mid-80s with all their lyrics written from the perspective of a fanatical hash-smoking Iranian (joke). Song titles include: “Blow up the embassy”, “Iranians on Bikes”, “A Martyr in Every Home”, “Kneel to No One” and “Die for Allah”. The original singer was actually Iranian (Amir Mamori) but was eventually replaced by a skinhead type who later dabbled with Rastafarianism (jokes over) and, depending what you read, one or two members went on to join the Butthole Surfers.
“At this late date It’s probably a little difficult to untangle the odd mixture of humor, progressive politics, and wise-ass nihilism that was the stock in trade of thrash bands of this period, but I hope you enjoy nonetheless.” —M.O.
